Charles Brady King, the ingenious inventor of 1871, revolutionized manual labour when he crafted the first jackhammer. This pneumatic or electro-mechanical device seamlessly combined the action of a hammer and a chisel and is now used to demolish hard materials such as asphalt and concrete.
